The Other Side of Paradise

About Artwork

20”h x 42″w archival signed limited-edition museum wrapped canvas print, framed in a simple but elegant espresso floater frame – Mount Rainier is one of the most spectacular volcanic peaks in all the Cascade Range. On the southern side of the Mountain you will find the area of Paradise with it’s mountain views, world-famous wildflower meadows, trails, visitor center, Inn and lots of people. My favorite view of Rainier is Chinook Pass, just opposite paradise on the Eastern slope. The raised elevation as well as several lakes and meadows found here provide many outstanding vistas. You will usually find a few people in the area at sunrise, but the morning this image was taken I had it all to myself. The morning fog and softly lit clouds over the peak provided one of the prettiest Moments I have witnessed here. It appeared to me that Paradise was totally fogged in the morning I captured this image. Anyone there would not be able to see the mountain. Only I, on the other side of Paradise was witness to this spectacle.

About the Artist

Over the past decade, there has been a lot of change in the tools we use to create photographs. Digital has taken over. Regardless, one thing remains constant. The “Art” of photography is about searching for and finding interesting and compelling subjects and then recording and sharing these “Moments in Time” in a unique and creative style. I find my pallet in nature. In its complexity I find simplicity and try and convey that with my photography. The moments I witness and record inspire me. And I hope the images I create inspire you. I personally control all aspects of the creative process for each of my prints. All are made using high quality archival materials and are signed and numbered. The tools may have changed, but the Art remains within the artist.
