About Artwork

9”h x 18″w archival signed limited-edition luster paper print, matted in 14″h x 24″w white matte ~ It had been five years since I last visited the coastal redwood forest of Northern California. Little had changed, except for the brilliant pink flowering rhododendrons I had timed my visit to coincide with. Why would it have, since a few years was a minuscule period compared to the thousands of years it took for these trees, the worlds tallest, to grow to over three hundred feet high. No one picture or description can capture the immensity of the redwood forest. These towering giants prefer cool damp weather. They find solitude from the warm California summer sun in the fog created by the cool waters of the Pacific. A long quiet walk through these giants provides only a glimpse of their majesty.

About the Artist

Over the past decade, there has been a lot of change in the tools we use to create photographs. Digital has taken over. Regardless, one thing remains constant. The “Art” of photography is about searching for and finding interesting and compelling subjects and then recording and sharing these “Moments in Time” in a unique and creative style. I find my pallet in nature. In its complexity I find simplicity and try and convey that with my photography. The moments I witness and record inspire me. And I hope the images I create inspire you. I personally control all aspects of the creative process for each of my prints. All are made using high quality archival materials and are signed and numbered. The tools may have changed, but the Art remains within the artist.
