In 1910 the premiere of The Firebird Suite astonished Parisian audiences with its portrayal of the supernatural. Twenty-nine years later, Samuel Barber amazed audiences with what has become one of the most beloved and beautiful violin concertos. Minnesota Orchestra’s Assistant Concertmaster Rui Du makes his first appearance with the MSO as soloist in Barber’s gorgeous Violin Concerto.
